Myth Of Empires Creators Set Up Launcher To Purchase The Game Directly
Still not on Steam, pending DMCA takedown and related lawsuits.
You still can't buy Myth of Empires on Steam -- the medieval sandbox strategy game is still not available on Valve's platform following a DMCA takedown from Snail Games -- but you can buy the game directly from its creators.
Angela Game and Imperium Interactive Entertainment Ltd. have announced that they are creating a dedicated launcher through which players can purchase and play Myth of Empires' "International Vanguard Edition." Beta testing on the launcher began yesterday, which can be downloaded from the store page on the MoE website.
The solo game is $29.99 and the three-pack is $89.97, but both are currently discounted, to $24.99 and $69.99, respectively. Those discounts are in place "to match the Steam price, in accordance with Early Access rules that say a title cannot be offered for a lower price on a different platform," the companies said in their announcement.
None of this means that the lawsuits over the game aren't still proceeding, but it's at least a way for Angela Game to earn some income while things are pending -- income that could, if the courts find in favor of Snail Games, not stay in Angela's coffers for very long.
