He ruined all of them apart from Jay, but if I had to pick one, then I'd probably say Peter.

Can the real Sharon Watts please stand up? I don't recognise this pasta-poisoning, Ian Beale-marrying imposter.

Made the character beyond repair for me and unlike Ben who has grown up with a criminal father and turned to that life to please Phil, Sharon turning attempted murderer just makes no sense especially when its one of her oldest and closest friends she’s tried to kill - TWICE.

OP - you should have allowed the option for us to vote for more than one of them. I couldn’t decide between Phil, Sharon, Ian and Ben. Voted Sharon in the end.

I’m hoping for a redemption in those characters. Big time.

EDIT - realised Phil isn’t on there. He should be on the list too.

Actually Sharon did grow up with a criminal father, not that it should justify anybody's actions, especially Ben whose had more personality transplants than faces

To be fair Phil was already an awful character before Sen took over but somehow has become even worse which I didn’t think was possible

I don’t think that’s this producer ruining him if I’m being honest. It’s more people are getting bored with the character and him never dying or going to prison and the fact he drags every character in his orbit down. Phil to me as been pretty much stale in terms of character for years but his iconic status and being played by a great actor it was easier to overlook for a while but now I think he needs to leave so other characters can thrive.

Ben would have a far better chance without Phil around imo. Getting him out of his life would be a great start and they need to sort something about that trafficking stuff as they’ve done it and it’s a storyline I can’t blame people for hating but Also they need to fix the character. Even if its him one day waking up and grassing on those who arranged the trafficking. Just something to tie up that loose end!

I think Ian and Sharon are beyond repair if I’m being honest in terms of their friendship. Ian was always a slimebag creep and tbh is just furniture. Hopefully his extrnded break will do him the world of good if he even returns as currently it’s all up in the air.

The poisoning thing is just ok out of character, ruined an original friendship and Ian gives her the pub still…I want Zack to be kept away from Sharon. Get him and Martin a lads pad flat.

Billy being a creepy over Honey for years too I don’t think he can be repaired if Honey is in the Show and tbf he is deadwood anyway so get rid of him and Keep Honey

And Bobby Beale. He is getting right on my wick now. More so than before and he was unlikeable even then.
Sorry to jump into your vote, but, can someone tell me why everyone says about how he was a child when he killed Lucy, blah blah blah, but nobody mentions what he did to Jane even though he certainly knew what he was doing then.

It's a toss up between Sharon and Ben but I think Ms Watts just edges it.

The writers have made many questionable decisions when it comes to Sharon during this stint, but her marriage to Ian Beale and subsequent plot to murder him left me literally open-mouthed.

I don’t get why people are voting Peter over most the others on the list.

He is played by a crap actor but hasn’t really had any focus and Peter’s always been a just there type of character but in tes of whats beem done to other characters a bad and never given anything of note recast is the least ruining they’ve done in comparison.

    Peter, no doubt.
I can’t understand the people who voted for Linda, the alcoholic storyline made her a better character. Her cheating with Max was horrible but she’s just like the rest of disloyal EE characters, it can be forgotten.

A big fat nod to Sharon for me. I think they they completely DESTROYED her and she will always have this black mark on her character. First she blamed the wrong person for Denny's death. Ian may have locked him in that room but that was because he had no remorse over Bobby getting beaten up by racists. He didn't plan for him to die. It isn't Ian's fault a wave knocked them unconscious and carried them out of the boat leading to Denny drowning. While MULTIPLE people can be blamed for his death, Phil should get the most blame since he was the idiot who decided bringing a gun on a ship to confront the father of his granddaughter/wife's lover and FIGHT near the wheel was a good idea.

Then we had Sharon going to Phil when she learned the truth when in actuality all of her ire should have been directed towards him. Once again, Phil was the one that actually crashed the boat. If that hadn't happened, Denny would still be alive. She can be mad at Ian but the whole thing isn't on him. Keanu told Denny that he was gonna run away with Sharon and him. Sharon lied to him about cutting Keanu out of his life. This lead to Denny going to the ship. So Sharon and Keanu both bare some responsibility towards what happened also. We then have Sharon ORDER Phil who never had it in him before to kill Ian and when that didn't work, she decides to marry him. Then she begins poisoning him. First with lithium (the first packet was probably obtained illegally and then she stole Jean's prescription), then with what Phil got her (I assume a massive dose of cocaine since that was what Phil was on when he was addicted to the drugs). Even though Sharon changed her mind and couldn't go through with it at the last minute, it still doesn't change the fact that she planned to MURDER her best friend who also was her husband at the time.

Seriously, the fact that Sharon was Ian's SIXTH marriage and FIFTH wife is disturbing. Even if they divorced after 2 months of marriage.
