Atlantic Health partnership aims to improve digital access through AI

A visit to a new doctor’s office typically brings with it not jut the prospect of a new relationship, but the prospect of a new set of forms and paperwork to be completed.

In a move that will improve not just the patient experience, but also offer enhanced security, Atlantic Health System said Jan. 18 it is teaming up with Vouched to offer real-time identity verification.

Through Vouched’s proprietary identify verification AI Vouched.ID, Atlantic health said its patients can can now register digitally from their smartphone in a fraction of the time typically required.

“Vouched.ID allows us to replicate in-person workflows online, such as examining a driver’s license or other government-issued photo identity documents, then using AI to compare with their live face scan, automating registration and getting patients access to their care team faster, easier and safer than ever before,” said Atlantic Health Vice President, Chief Digital and Innovation Officer Benjamin Maisano in a statement.

Maisano said the technology should help the health care system achieve its goals of increasing patient access, improving efficiency and providing a better-all around experience.

Vouched.ID is already in use by the system for virtual urgent care purposes. Additionally, Atlantic Health said it is continuing to expand the use of the platform for all appointment scheduling and to bring touchless face scanning to its in-person systems.

Vouched is part of Atlantic Health’s Venture Studio, which gives startups, vendors and tech leaders access to mentorship from the system’s clinical and business leaders.
