Is there any greater feeling than off-roading in a Ford Bronco with the doors off? The Ford Bronco is one of the Blue Oval’s most popular small SUVs because of the freedom it granted its occupants. Bronco owners can remove the SUV’s roof and doors for an experience that few other vehicles can provide. Ford just released a YouTube Ford Bronco door removal tutorial for some real off-road fun.

The 2021 Ford Bronco was the most desirable small SUV of 2021 because it was the rebirth of the popular nameplate. The Blue Oval stopped producing Bronco models after larger SUV models became more popular and sales dwindled. Today, small SUVs are all the rage, and some of the best-selling vehicles in America are compact SUV models.

Folks don’t normally buy a Ford Bronco for comfort, practicality, or even value. Consumers buy Ford Broncos to hit trails and test the limits of the fun-loving American SUV. The off-road SUV was in such high demand that buyers were able to create a booming resale market on sites like eBay.

The Ford Bronco has off-roading capabilities that are uncommon. Trims like the Ford Bronco Wildtrak have increased off-roading capability thanks to additional features like front and rear-locking differentials, Bilstein shocks, and 35-inch all-terrain tires. For extra thrills, Bronco models allow drivers to remove the roof and doors of the off-road SUV.

How to remove the doors of a Ford Bronco

Ford Bronco owners don’t need to dust off their own personal tool kits to get the doors off. Ford provides a tool kit that features every tool needed to detach the Bronco’s doors in the glove box. It comes with a ratchet, 13-millimeter socket, two fender protectors, and an alignment pin.

After clearing the windows and side mirrors out of the way and placing a fender protector on the door and fender, drivers should detach the wire connector while the door is open. Use the 13-millimeter socket to undo the upper and lower bolts connecting the door to the SUV. Once the bolts are loose, store them somewhere you’ll remember and lift the door off with another person to avoid injury or damage by dropping the door.

Repeat the process for all four doors, and you’ll be ready to roll! Ford’s YouTube tutorial teaches Bronco owners how to take a single door off in under two minutes. The entire Ford Bronco door removal process should take you no longer than 10-15 minutes max.

The 2022 Ford Bronco is the latest Bronco available to consumers. It starts at $29,300. The 2022 model year is available in six different trims thus far. According to Car and Driver, the Blue Oval will be adding a 2022 Ford Bronco Everlages model with a snorkel and winch.

The Ford Bronco is an incredible small SUV for drivers with a passion for off-roading. If you don’t plan on taking the road less traveled, skip the Bronco for a more affordable compact SUV with better fuel economy.
