Troy Weaver and the Pistons are in a good spot ahead of the Feb. 10 trade deadline, and they know it. Hence their price for Jerami Grant.

The Pistons are seeking 'two first-round picks or one first-round pick plus a high-upside young player' in exchange for their 27-year-old leading scorer, according to Bleacher Report.

Grant has been reported to have dozens of suitors around the NBA, including the Lakers, Trail Blazers, Knicks, Jazz, Wizards, Celtics and Timberwolves, per Bleacher Report.

"That's why nothing's been done yet," one assistant GM told Bleacher Report. "He's gonna have so many suitors; they're just gonna wait them all out."

As good as Grant has been for Detroit since signing a three-year, $60 million deal prior to last season, he might not fit the timeline of the team's rebuild. He's also in line for an extension this summer worth up to $112 million. Thus the Pistons' willingness to trade him.

His most likely landing spot, per Bleacher Report, might be the Wizards. In that case, 2019 ninth overall pick Rui Hachimura or 2020 ninth overall pick Deni Avdija plus the Wizards' 2022 fist-round pick would likely be coming back to Detroit.

Bleacher Report also suggests the Eastern Conference-leading Bulls as a strong candidate to land Grant, with a package centered around 2020 fourth overall pick Patrick Williams. The Florida State product 'has a mountain of trade value despite being out for the season with a dislocated wrist' and was Weaver's 'top target' at No. 7 heading into last year's draft.

Grant has been sidelined for the past five weeks due a thumb injury, but he's expected to return to the lineup soon. He's averaging 20.1 points and 4.8 rebounds this season, a year after exploding for 22.3 points and 4.6 boards and finishing second to Julius Randle as the NBA's Most Improved Player.

"For any team to sign off on a trade for Grant," per Bleacher Report, "they'll need assurances of his plans to re-sign this offseason." It's a similar scenario to last year's sweepstakes for Aaron Gordon, who ultimately landed in Denver with 2020 first-round pick R.J. Hampton, proven NBA starter Gary Harris and a 2025 first-round pick going back to the Magic.

There's also a chance the Pistons hold onto Grant if they don't get an offer to their liking, keeping him in a core headlined by Cade Cunningham and another lottery pick in this year's draft.

"If they don't blow you away, you might as well just keep him," another assistant GM told Bleacher Report. "If you have (Duke forward), Paolo Banchero, Grant, Cade, Saddiq Bey, you have something. When I talk to Detroit, they just want one of the top three picks."
