Nancy Wesley on DAYS OF OUR LIVES — Everything You Need To Know

It’s been a while since Nancy Wesley has been on DAYS OF OUR LIVES so some viewers might need a refresher on Chloe’s mom. Well, that’s where we come in! The character first appeared back in 1998 and has always been played by Patrika Darbo. Although her original run ended in 2005, the actress reprised the role in 2013 and then came back for more from 2016-17. Darbo returned to DAYS as Nancy once again in January 2022 for even more drama!

Nancy was introduced as the husband of Dr. Craig Wesley, and working as the head volunteer at University Hospital, helped keep an eye on her hubby and advance his career. Together, they schemed to get Craig the job as chief of staff, and when it went to Mike Horton, they plotted to bring him down. Nancy suffered a breast cancer scare and was surprised when Mike was kind to her. But after she recovered, she resumed her scheming against him! Craig and Nancy used Mike’s ex, a nurse named Ali, to urge her to file a sexual harassment suit against him. In the resulting scandal, Mike resigned, and Craig was finally made chief of staff. 

After receiving a mysterious phone call, Nancy went to an orphanage with a large sum of money to try and bribe them into keeping her daughter there, but after meeting with Chloe Lane, invited her to come back to Salem with her. They tried to keep the truth from Craig, but when Chloe tried to run away, Nancy went after her and got hit by a truck! After visiting her mom in the hospital, Chloe decided to stay in town. Although Nancy admitted that Chloe was the daughter she’d given up for adoption at 16, she refused to name the father.

Eventually, Nancy confessed that she had been raped by her father’s business associate. But when Chloe developed leukemia and needed a bone marrow transplant, medical tests proved that Craig was actually Chloe’s biological father! To provide their daughter with the best possible donor, Nancy and Craig had another baby that they named Joy. Because that’s what she brought the family when the child was able to donate marrow and save Chloe’s life. With everyone happy and healthy, the Wesleys moved to New York City.

Nancy returned to Salem in 2013 when Chloe needed help getting Jennifer Horton out of Daniel Jonas’ life so she could be with him instead. She then came back again at the end of 2016 for a couple of months to help Chloe keep custody of Holly from Nicole Walker. 

In January 2020, it was Nancy who needed Chloe’s help as she revealed that she suspected Craig was cheating on her. However, the truth was even more heartbreaking when her husband confessed that he was in love with another man! Nancy struggled to understand how Craig could be gay and was crushed that their marriage had been a lie.
