Now that the long-awaited second season of Euphoria has premiered, the show is dominating the pop culture conversation. And it’s not just the actors’ on-screen chemistry that has people talking, but also the potential of a real-life romance between two of the show’s biggest stars.

Hunter Schafer and Dominic Fike were photographed spending some quality time together, grabbing dinner at The Nice Guy in West Hollywood on Sunday and holding hands on their way out the door. An “eyewitness” told celebrity gossip Instagram account Deuxmoi that, inside, the rumored couple were also spotted “kissing” and “dancing” and were later joined by a handful of their co-stars, including Jacob Elordi and Alexa Demie.

The pair also posed together on the red carpet at the season two premiere earlier this month. That photographic partnering makes sense, as their characters’ plot lines are intertwined and there’s insinuation they’ll be involved in a love triangle with the show’s protagonist Rue, played by Zendaya. Neither actor has commented on the status of their relationship or implied that they’re anything more than just friends. Schafer was previously linked to fellow model Massima Desire in late 2020. This is Fike’s first season on Euphoria. He’s mostly known for his music career, releasing his debut album What Could Possibly Go Wrong in 2020.

Earlier this month, both Zendaya and Schafer revealed they were trepidatious when they first read the new scripts featuring Fike’s character, Elliot. “I remember when [creator] Sam [Levinson] first kind of talked about the idea of this Elliot character, I wasn’t feeling it—as someone who ships ‘Rules’ to the bitter end,” Zendaya told Variety, referring to the portmanteau for her and Schafer’s characters. “And I was like, ‘Whoa, whoa, whoa, what are we doing here?’ But, in retrospect, and also as someone who understands where the show needs to go and what needs to happen for these characters, it’s crucial that Elliot exists and that he be the person that is honestly the catalyst for a lot of things that just have to happen.” Schafer added, “I think I was in a similar boat to Z when I first heard about this ‘Elliot boy.’ But, you know, as we saw more of what it brought into the story and the script, it became a more interesting and exciting prospect, and once Dom came on board, he made it a lot of fun.”
