Hoosier rock icon John Mellencamp will release an album of new music on Friday for the first time in nearly five years, as "Strictly a One-Eyed Jack" hits streaming services and retailers.

The album was teased in September, when Mellencamp released  his first duet with Bruce Springsteen, "Wasted Days," as its lead single. Springsteen also provides backing vocals and guitar on two other tracks: "Did You Say Such a Thing" and "A Life Full of Rain."

It can be streamed beginning Friday on most major services, including Spotify, iTunes and Apple Music.

The LP is Mellencamp's first studio album since 2018's "Other People's Stuff," a cover collection, and his 25th overall. His last new music release was 2017's "Sad Clowns and Hillbillies." He also dropped live albums in 2017 and 2021.
