What a smart idea. Allow customers to open, smell, and contaminate milk while shopping. The stupidity of people never ceases to amaze me.

Yes, it is problematic idea, due primarily to potential for contamination or even intentional poison contamination (I.e. remember that’s why society implemented safety seals on consumable products). Additionally, it removes the store’s burden to ensure they are selling a fresh product, as the “use by” date provides a reference for the consumer on the product’s quality at the time of purchase. Not a good idea!!

I go a step further. I smell it. If it passes the smell test, I just go ahead and sneak a sip. Then I close it, put it back on the shelf, then grab an unopened one.😝
