The Kern County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that left 34-year-old Arthur Jess Medina on Jan. 18 in East Bakersfield.

Just before 6 a.m. a shooting was reported at Steele and Mt. Vernon avenues, north of E. California Ave.

Medina was shot multiple times and died at the scene, according to the department.

There is no suspect information at this time.

Kern County Sheriff's deputies responded to the area of Steele Avenue and Mt Vernon Avenue for a victim of a shooting.

KCSO deputies found an adult male subject suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim died from his injuries and homicide detectives have now taken over the investigation.
