ELMWOOD PLACE, Ohio (WKRC) - An Elmwood Place Police officer fired a shot at a suspect who was driving right towards him Monday night.
The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office said the officer tried to stop Kacfluis Levy for an "equipment violation" at Vine and Maple streets at about 11:15 p.m.
The officer ran the license plate and learned that Levy has a couple of domestic violence warrants, as well.
As the officer got out of his cruiser during the stop, he says Levy drove off.
Investigators say Levy then had to stop on Maple Street due to a train crossing the road.
As the officer again approached Levy's vehicle, investigators say Levy turned around and started driving towards the officer and his cruiser. That's when the Elmwood Place officer fired a shot. The officer had to fall into the seat of his cruiser to avoid being struck, according to court papers.
Levy's SUV was later found at his home on Glendale Street.
Deputies say Levy ran off. A police dog tracked him down.
Levy faces felonious assault and failure to comply with police for this incident, as well as domestic violence and assault charges for previous incidents.
The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office is helping with the investigation.
