BMW USA will be preparing 12 special edition models of its 7 Series in M760i xDrive-guise as a means to bid farewell to its V12 powered luxury sedan. The upcoming model will be the last-ever BMW to bear a 12-cylinder engine, although the list of cars from the brand that falls under this category is not very long.

Official images are still due to be published but BMW states that the special edition, dubbed 'The Final V12' will boast a simple but bold V12 badge at the rear as well as a special set of 20-inch Style 760M double-spoke light-alloy wheels which can be painted in Window Grey or Jet Black. Once painted, these wheels will be burnished to bring out a dark silver surface highlight and thereafter paired with a choice of blue or black M Sport brake calipers.

Within the spacious cabin of the special M760i, a unique set of threshold plates will be installed at each door sill with "THE FINAL V12" inscribed on the surface. The rest of the cabin is left simple with BMW Individual Piano Black trimmings applied throughout together with a console-mounted plaque distinguishing which of the 12 units you have in your possession.

The list of features will also be comprehensive with BMW's Driving Assistance Professional, luxury rear seating, the panoramic Sky Lounge LED roof, icon adaptive LED headlights with Laserlight, and the Bowers & Wilkins Diamond surround sound audio system all being thrown in as standard. For added personalization, owners will also have the option of selecting from over eighty exterior colors and several tones of opulent Full Merino leather from BMW Individual.

Once the customer takes delivery of their M760i xDrive, they will receive a custom-built desk trophy to commemorate their purchase. This will recognize the special order paint, leather, and vehicle identification number as one of The Final V12 vehicles. BMW says that it will be getting in touch with clients who have a long-standing history with V12 BMW 7 Series ownership and invite them to purchase this special model.

Production will commence in June 2022 with deliveries expected to take place the following month. Each will be sold for $200,000 before options and destination. The Final V12 will maintain the brand's twin-turbo gasoline 6.6-liter V12 engine, likely with an unchanged power output of 601 horsepower. This is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed torque converter and affords the sedan a 0-60-mph time of 3.6 seconds.
