The Arizona Cardinals were absolutely dominated on Monday night in the Wild Card Round, losing 34-11 to the Los Angeles Rams. Instead of acknowledging that his team played poorly, head coach Kliff Kingsbury instead blamed the performance on their lack of experience on the playoff stage.

Via NFL.com:

“I think experience is a big part of it,” the Cardinals coach said. “There's only one way to experience playoff football and that's to go through it. And unfortunately, we didn't play our best game and I thought L.A. played a great game, had a great plan and outplayed us and outcoached us. But I think you just got to go through these moments and learn from it and grow from it and use it as motivation.”

While he definitely has a point, the Cardinals were simply outplayed. The Rams were up 21-0 at halftime and absolutely terrorized Arizona in every category imaginable, racking up 375 yards to just 183 for Kingsbury's squad.

The Cardinals' defense struggled to get stops as well, with LA going 6-for-13 on third-down conversions. But, it felt like this was going to happen for Arizona. After all, they lost four of their last five games to wrap up the regular season before Monday's shellacking.

Now, it's back to the drawing board. Hopefully, they can learn from it and come back stronger next year.
