The Atlanta Falcons are dealing with a myriad of questions at the receiver position this off-season. The biggest question is whether or not Calvin Ridley will be able to return ot the team? If he doesn’t Atlanta will have extra cap space and a clear need to target a number one receiver.

While it seems doubtful Atlanta will be able to lure the best receiver in football away from Green Bay or sign a rival in Chris Godwin there is a number one option that makes sense for Atlanta and is scheduled to hit free agency, Odell Beckham Jr.

Odell is likely to hit the market after his tenure with the Browns came to an unceremonious end and the receiver joined a star-studded Rams team. While it seems likely Odell will want to stay in LA, the Falcons have a compelling case to present the diva receiver.

The Atlanta Falcons lack a star of Odell’s magnitude for better or worse the Falcons would be Odell’s team

If there is one thing we know about Odell Beckham Jr. it is the fact the receiver wants to be a huge part of the game plan. It is the reason his relationship with Baker Mayfield and the Browns fell apart and previously why he left Eli Manning and the New York Giants.

If Odell decides to leave the Rams this off-season it will be because of lack of cap space and want to be a number one. Atlanta can offer Odell a better deal than the Rams especially if Ridley were to come off of the books.

Odell would be a much-needed weapon for Matt Ryan, one Ryan would willingly force-feed allowing Beckham to put up the number he did as a member of the Giants.  Giving Atlanta a weapon they have lacked since Julio Jones was in his prime.

Luring Odell to Atlanta is a long shot for a team that is clearly rebuilding. However, it is a move Atlanta should be exploring in an off-season that the Falcons must spend not only replacing Julio Jones but perhaps Calvin Ridley.
