Samsung has just announced the Exynos 2200, a 4 nm SoC with an RDNA 2-based GPU. While there were rumours of Samsung using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in the European versions of the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus and Galaxy S22 Ultra, multiple retailers have confirmed that the trio will arrive with the Exynos 2200 instead.

Samsung has finally unveiled the Exynos 2200, the first mobile SoC with an AMD RDNA 2-based GPU. While Samsung Korea has already verified the Galaxy S22 series' existence, it has not revealed if the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ or Galaxy S22 Ultra would rely on the new 4 nm chip. Rumour had it that Samsung may switch to Snapdragon in more markets, such as Europe.

Subsequently, Ishan Agarwal informed his followers that the Exynos 2200 would make its way to Europe after all. Multiple retailers have since implied that this is the case. As the screenshots below show, EptoInkshop and Zanetti have listed the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus and Galaxy S22 Ultra as the SM-S901B, SM-S906B and SM-S908B, respectively.

Counterintuitively, Samsung uses 'B' to denote Exynos variants, and 'E' for Snapdragon ones. GalaxyClub.nl has not found any European retailer listings for the SM-S901E, SM-S906E and SM-S908E though, despite their appearance on benchmark databases like Geekbench. Hence, it seems probable that Europe will only receive Exynos 2200 versions of the Galaxy S22 series, mirroring the Galaxy S21 series.

The Galaxy S22 series is tipped to arrive on February 8 at a dedicated Galaxy Unpacked event. Samsung has not officially announced the date of its next Galaxy Unpacked event yet, but it could be the same one where it unveils the Galaxy Tab S8 series.
