This Morning's Phil reveals Holly is being replaced for two weeks

This Morning's Phillip Schofield has explained why his co-presenter Holly Willoughby will be absent for the next two weeks.

Viewers were baffled when they tuned into the daytime show earlier today (January 17) and were greeted by Schofield and former The Saturdays singer Rochelle Humes.

Fortunately, Schofield was quick to tell those at home that Willoughby is taking a break to film Wim 'Iceman' Hof's Superstar Survival with comedian Lee Mack for the BBC.

"She's off with the Iceman," Schofield confirmed. "She's making a show away at the moment. She's off for two weeks."

"I've come here to hang out and keep her seat warm," Humes added, confirming that Schofield's regular onscreen partner will be back in early February.

Even though she's relinquishing her hosting duties on This Morning for a little while, it has been reported Willoughby will fly in from Southern Europe, where Superstar Survival is being filmed, every weekend to continue fronting Dancing on Ice alongside Schofield.

Superstar Survival will feature a group of "soul-searching celebrities" as they head to some of Europe's harshest conditions to take on some death-defying challenges.

"I can't wait to team up with Lee and Wim on this show," Holly said in a statement when the new series was announced in August last year.

"Lee is a favourite in our house because he's so hilariously funny and I've been a fan of Wim for a long time – he's a genius who's incredibly passionate about helping others.

"This show is going to be brilliantly entertaining and you never know... you may find out some things that could help you along the way too."

This Morning airs on weekdays from 10am on ITV.
