Jake Collier kicked off 2022 in excellent fashion by getting a quick submission over Chase Sherman in a UFC co-main event. He now finds himself able to call his own shots for whom he wants to fight next.

Jake Collier has plenty of options but it seems that there is a UFC legend that he's hoping for. The fight could make a lot of sense as long as the former champion is interested in the fight.

“March – that would be great,” Collier told reporters including MMAJunkie at the UFC on ESPN 32 post-fight news conference. “Give me a good opponent. I said Arlovski because Chase and him had a good fight. I would love to fight a legend, and I think it’s a good matchup for me.”

The potential fight against the veteran Andrei Arlovski could be an interesting one as he looks to prove he is one of the best at heavyweight. Arlovski has been a very solid gatekeeper and has upset many prospects in the UFC.

The return in March is ideal for Jake Collier as he hopes to fight in the UFC more than two times a year. Fighting in January with a quick return in March would almost guarantee he'd be able to fight 3-4 times in 2022.

“I want to stay active,” UFC heavyweight Collier said. “I’m tired of fighting two fights a year. I’m not hurt. I don’t even know how long that fight was. I didn’t get touched much. Like I said, March would be awesome for me.”
