MADISON — Watertown native Aaron Kranz and De Smet native Josh McNames are two of the 14 members of the 2022 induction class into the South Dakota Intercollegiate Conference Basketball Hall of Fame.

The 2022 SDIC Basketball Hall of Fame class will be honored on April 2 in Madison, with a time and date for the induction ceremony event to be announced.

Kranz, who starred at Mount Marty in Yankton, and McNames, who was a standout at Black Hills State University in Spearfish, both graduated college in 1999.

For a second straight class, all of the members were involved in men’s basketball. The hall of fame is an extension of the conference’s original hall of fame, which honored players from all sports over the conference’s 83-year history until it ceased operations at the end of the 1999-2000 season, giving way to the Great Plains Athletic Conference and the defunct Dakota Athletic Conference.

The SDIC’s induction committee includes Myron Moen, Jim Schlekeway, Randy Fletcher, Mac Rops and Cliff Anderson. For more information or questions, contact Anderson by email at cjanderson1950@gmail.com or call 253-318-7487 and leave a message.
