Children’s Bureau offers virtual orientation for prospective foster parents

Children’s Bureau, a nonprofit organization that serves San Bernardino, Orange, Los Angeles and Kern counties, is offering two virtual ways for people to learn about becoming foster parents or fostering to adopt.

Children’s Bureau will present an orientation via Zoom 4-5 p.m. Jan. 20, hosted by a Children’s Bureau team member and a foster parent. For those who want to learn at their own pace, Children’s Bureau offers a PowerPoint orientation.

The pandemic has accelerated the need for foster and foster-adoptive parents to help at-risk youth stayin their communities, according to a news release from Children’s Bureau.

Children’s Bureau welcomes every individual, regardless of race, age, religion, disability, marital status, ethnic background, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, to become a resource for children, according to the news release.

Qualifying families receive training and support.
