Moose collision at Park City Mountain knocked snowboarder unconscious

PARK CITY, Utah — A woman was skiing with her husband at Canyons Village last week when she saw a moose running up the Echo run near the Super Condor chairlift, according to reports on social media.

Moments later, she said people were screaming for ski patrollers. “We noticed the lens of his goggles were laying across the run, and he appeared very injured,” she wrote.

One patroller, who was not on site but got information from coworkers, said a snowboarder was knocked unconscious and was transferred to the hospital after colliding with the moose. The young man is reportedly okay.

Mountain Safety at Park City Mountain confirmed that the man was taken away via ambulance.

The patroller said the moose was unharmed, to the extent of their knowledge.
