FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Jalisa Autry and her fiancé, Anton Green, have lived on Gairloch Drive for about a year and a half. It's the house Autry grew up in as a child.

The couple were home during this weekend's ice storm and heard a huge branch fall to the ground at around 11 a.m.

"We went to the window. That's when we saw the first branch just across the sidewalk to the porch," Autry said.

They checked the video on their Ring camera to find out exactly what happened. A second branch that fell from a tree near their house nearly crushed the driver-side bumper of one of their cars.

Green stepped off the porch to move the cars from the driveway, when he heard a loud noise from above.

"As soon as stepped outside, I heard the cracking, crunching from the branch," Green said. "The first thing I done was run to the street, because there ain't no trees out in the street."

Fortunately, Green managed to get out of the way just in time. Despite three large branches falling, the house and vehicle were not damaged.

The tree in the backyard has been there since Autry was a child.

"I don't think we could just knock it down, but we can trim up more of the branches now," she said.
