Bowmanstown announces decorating winners

A multitude of residences in Bowmanstown lit up the streets during the holiday season as the Bowmanstown Area Residents Connected held its second annual holiday decorations contest.

From Dec. 1 to Dec. 10, residents could nominate their favorite houses in the neighborhood by messaging the addresses of the homes to BARC member Rodney Reeser.

Following this process, 13 houses in the neighborhood ended up being nominated for the contest and were posted to the BARC Facebook page.

From Dec. 12 until midnight on Christmas Eve, users could vote for their favorite houses by liking the respective pictures of the houses on the BARC page.

The Reph residence on 429 White St. won first place with 133 likes on Facebook.

This is their second time winning first place in the contest, making them the undefeated champions. They won $50 as their prize.

The Paseler residence on 709 Mill St. won second place with 64 likes and received $30 as their prize.

The Reeser residence on 509 White St. won third place and received $20 as their prize.

There was a tie for fourth place between the Leiby residence on 322 Ore St. and the Kreiss residence on 658 Mill St. Each of them received $15 as their prize.

In addition to cash prizes, each of the winners also received a handcrafted gourd ornament (“gourdament”) provided by R&M’s Gourds & More.

This contest invited many members of the Bowmanstown community to share a lot of positive and encouraging feedback on all of the house decorations online.
