The Milwaukee Bucks will play the Atlanta Hawks in an Eastern Conference MLK Day matchup on Monday. It's time continue our NBA odds series with a MLK Day Bucks-Hawks prediction and pick.

The Bucks and Hawks will play Monday as Atlanta will look for their first win at home since November. The Hawks have lost five straight overall, and ten straight on their home floor. The Hawks have not won at home since Nov. 22 when they beat the Oklahoma City Thunder. Milwaukee has lost three of their last four as they are down a couple of starters in Jrue Holiday and Brook Lopez. The Bucks are just two games out of the No. 1 spot in the East however, and they still have Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton for this one. The Bucks come into this one as solid road favorites over the Hawks.

Here is how FanDuel has set the Bucks-Hawks odds for this Monday MLK Day NBA matchup.

Why The Bucks Could Cover The Spread

Milwaukee should have the edge in this one vs. a Hawks team that is really struggling of late. Antetokounmpo will be the best player on the floor as he typically is, and the Bucks will be the far better defense team in this matchup. The Bucks beat the Hawks in six games in the East Finals last season, winning the final games of the series without Antetokounmpo after he injured his knee. The Bucks have not had their full team for much of this season, but will look to continue to find their way up the East standings as they try to get healthy like much of the league.

Milwaukee vs. the spread

The Bucks are 20-25 vs. the spread to this point on the season. Milwaukee is 16-17 as the favorite vs. the line, and 10-5 as an away favorite. The Bucks have covered once in their past four games.

Why The Hawks Could Cover The Spread

The Hawks are perhaps the most due team in the league if you believe in that sort of thing. In addition to having not won at home since December, Atlanta has not won period since Jan. 5 when they beat the Sacramento Kings. The Hawks will be desperate to avoid a sixth straight loss and eleventh straight home loss in what will be a tough matchup vs. the defending champions. Atlanta has one of the NBA's worst defenses, and they will be without center Clint Capela (left ankle sprain) for this one. If the Hawks aren't able to find something on the defensive end, this could be a long evening. Bogdan Bogdanovic (knee soreness) is also out for the Hawks.

Atlanta vs. the spread

The Hawks are a poor 15-27 vs. the spread this season. Atlanta has covered just twice in their last ten games, and is 7-12 against the line at home this season. The Hawks are 5-12 vs. the spread as underdogs this season. They are not to be trusted.

Final Bucks-Hawks Prediction and Pick:

Take the Bucks to win and cover over the Hawks in this spot. Atlanta is really struggling, and Antetokounmpo should be able to dominate them. The Hawks may come out with some fight, but Milwaukee's defense should win over the course of a 48-minute game. Atlanta is not a good team at the moment and the Bucks should be able to cover and win.

Final Bucks-Hawks Prediction & Pick: Bucks -5 (-110)
