Gang Member Arrested Near the Mountains of Ocotillo

OCOTILLO, Calif. – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the El Centro Sector arrested a gang member near the Jacumba Wilderness region Thursday night.



At approximately 8:45 p.m., agents assigned to the El Centro station encountered an undocumented individual who illegally entered the United States, two miles north of the U.S./Mexico border. The individual was arrested and transported to El Centro Sector Processing Center to be further medically evaluated and processed. 



Record checks revealed this individual to be a documented Paisas gang member with extensive criminal and immigration history. This individual has numerous felony and misdemeanor convictions to include multiple re-entries after deportation. This individual was previously ordered to be removed from the U.S. by an immigration judge.



U.S. Border Patrol will process this individual accordingly.
