Intel NUC 11 Essential: Atlas Canyon mini-PCs launched with Intel Jasper Lake processors
Intel has quietly launched a set of new NUC mini-PCs, all marketed under the NUC 11 Essential series. As the screenshot below shows, Intel segments all NUC 11 Essential machines as 'products formerly Atlas Canyon', which leaked in April 2021. According to the Intel ARK database and leaked specifications, the NUC 11 Essential series contains the following ports:
- 1x 3.5 mm audio out
- 1x 3.5 mm mic in
- 1x DisplayPort 1.4
- 1x Gigabit Ethernet
- 1x HDMI 2.0b
- 2x USB 2.0
- 4x USB 3.2 Type-A
Additionally, Intel will offer the mini-PCs with the Celeron N4505, Celeron N5105 and Pentium Silver N6005, all Jasper Lake and 10 nm processors. Additionally, the NUC 11 Essential series will support up to 32 GB of DDR4-2933 RAM and will contain space for an M.2 SSD, plus 64 GB of eMMC flash storage. The mini-PCs will support Linux, Windows 10 and Windows 11, but they will come with the latter pre-installed.
Unfortunately, while Intel insists that it has launched the series, it has not revealed their prices. Similarly, it seems that no retailers are selling any models at the time of publication. Tom's Hardware speculates that the NUC 11 Essential series could launch for approximately US$200, but only if the 11th generation machines cost roughly as much as previous generations do.
