Alabama was not ranked in Monday’s Associated Press men’s basketball poll after being ranked in 19 consecutive polls.

The Tide received 26 voting points in Monday’s AP poll, which saw in-state rival Auburn climb to No. 2. That was the fourth-most of teams not in the top 25.

Alabama’s streak of being ranked in the AP poll began Jan. 11, 2021 and saw the Tide rise to No. 5 by last season’s end. It began No. 14 this season, rose to No. 6 after back-to-back wins over Gonzaga and Houston, but has quickly fallen after losing five of its past eight games.

Alabama, which was ranked No. 24 in last week’s AP poll, has lost three games in a row, including to Auburn and Mississippi State last week. It hosts LSU, ranked No. 13 in the AP poll, on Wednesday night and Missouri on Saturday.

In Monday’s coaches poll, Alabama dropped out and received 21 voting points, fourth-most among teams not in the top 25. Alabama, which has been ranked in 20 consecutive coaches polls, was No. 25 last week.

Alabama’s NET ranking used by the NCAA tournament committee remains more favorable. The Tide is No. 24 and continues to have the nation’s highest average opponent NET ranking.
