Dragon Ball Super Chapter 80, titled Gas vs. Granolah 2, is finally arriving in a few days, and it will continue the fight between the two fighters who used the Dragon Balls to wish to be the strongest fighter in the universe. We've already seen early draft pages for the upcoming chapter, and now major spoilers have been shared by Mugiwara_23 that give us details of how the fight will go down, but it also reveals a haunting memory for Gas.
After an intense exchange of attacks between Granolah and Gas, Elec reveals that Gas has been sealing his power all along with the pendant on his forehead. Gas starts to lose control, and his body dramatically changes: his muscles get bulkier and two big horns grow downwards from the sides of his forehead.
When Gas attacks Goku and Vegeta, he kicks Vegeta and starts punching him; then when Goku tries to defend Vegeta, Gas stops, and he looks at Goku and remembers something.
A flashback scene shows the last moments of the Gas vs. Bardock battle. Bardock looked at Gas just like Goku looks at him in the present, and Bardock looks injured and his armor is badly damaged. Bardock accumulated a large amount of Ki on his right hand in the form of a sphere (like the attack he used against Frieza in the anime special).
Bardock attacked Gas (who was using his current out-of-control form) with a huge Ki blast, and this scene is reminiscent to Goku's final attack on Frieza on Namek, before the planet exploded.
Back to the present, Gas' memories makes him lose stability, and Goku's punch hurt him. Gas seems confused, sweating a lot as he remembers his fight with Bardock. Elec appears floating on top of Gas, and tells Gas not to lose again. Gas reacts to his brother's words, and his body changes again.
Gas returns to his adult form, but he keeps the horns on his forehead, and he creates a new suit just like the old one. Elec is pleased, and tells Gas to kill them, and Gas nods.
It's likely that Gas will continue to fight both Goku and Vegeta in the next chapter, but it's still unclear if Granolah will be able to recover again and fight the strongest warrior in the universe.
