Video: Evan Holyfield, son of Evander, suffers brutal knockout in massive upset loss
Evander Holyfield’s son won’t be matching the legendary boxer’s incredible start to his career. On Saturday at TrillerVerz 5 at Kia Forum in Inglewood, Calif., Evan Holyfield suffered the first loss of his pro boxing career when he was left face down on the mat by a hammer right hand from Jurmain McDonald in the second round. McDonald, a journeyman with a 6-5 pro record, entered the bout as a massive underdog while Holyfield was as high as a -10,000 favorite in the betting, according to Pro Boxing Odds.

Frank Gore celebrated his 39th birthday by picking up his first win in the boxing world in violent fashion. Gore made his pro debut at Saturday’s Gamebred Boxing event in Biloxi, Miss., and in the fourth round of his co-main event matchup with Yaya Olorunsola, Gore landed a combination, followed by a big right hand that sent Olorunsola face-first down to the canvas.

Set to defend his Macaco Fighter title in his hometown against Rodrigo “Bad Boy” Melonio on Saturday, Duarte expects his career to take off in 2022, especially after popular Brazilian TV show Fantastico aired a story about him.

UFC Vegas 54 video: Andre Petroski chokes Nick Maximov unconscious in 76 seconds
Andre Petroski showed who the superior prospect was on Saturday night. The recent The Ultimate Fighter contestant improved to 3-0 in the UFC with a first-round anaconda choke submission of Nick Maximov to open the UFC Vegas 54 preliminary card at UFC APEX in Las Vegas. Petroski’s choke actually left Maximov unconscious before referee Chris Tognoni stepped in for the stoppage just 76 seconds into Round 1.

Conor McGregor appears to be healing up just fine. Last July, McGregor snapped his leg against Dustin Poirier in their trilogy fight at UFC 264. Since then, “Notorious” has been on the sidelines recovering, with a stated intention of returning to the octagon sometime this year. For the last few months, McGregor has been regularly posting videos of his gym work as updates on his recuperation. Over the weekend, McGregor posted another pair of videos of him working his boxing and all signs seem to suggest that McGregor may not be far off from a return.

Ashlee Evans-Smith suspended 14 months after testing positive for steroid
Ashlee Evans-Smith has tested positive for a steroid and will be out of action until next year. The USADA announced Monday that Evans-Smith has accepted a sanction for violating the UFC Anti-Doping Policy after she tested positive for “an anabolic androgenic steroid of exogenous origin” tied to a pair of out-of-competition drug tests taken this past January.
