The Man Who Fell To Earth Trailer

"My mission is your mission." Showtime has revealed the first look teaser for their sci-fi series titled The Man Who Fell To Earth, arriving this spring. Yes this is the same thing as the iconic 1976 sci-fi film that starred David Bowie, also titled The Man Who Fell To Earth. They're re-adapting the novel that the film was based on, written by Walter Tevis and first published in 1963. The logline for this one: "An alien who arrives on Earth at a turning point in human evolution and must confront his own past to determine our future." The highly anticipated upcoming original sci-fi drama series The Man Who Fell To Earth – starring Oscar & Emmy nominee and BAFTA Award winner Chiwetel Ejiofor – will premiere exclusively on Showitme in 2022. Naomie Harris will also star as Justin Falls, a brilliant scientist and engineer who must conquer her own demons in the race to save two worlds. The cast also includes Jimmi Simpson, Rob Delaney, and Sonya Cassidy. This is just a first look teaser without much footage, but I'm intrigued. So far it looks good.

Here's the first teaser trailer for Showtime's series The Man Who Fell To Earth, direct from YouTube:

The Man Who Fell To Earth

Based on the Walter Tevis novel of the same name and the iconic film that starred David Bowie, The Man Who Fell To Earth will follow a new alien character (Ejiofor) who arrives on Earth at a turning point in human evolution and must confront his own past to determine our future. Showtime's The Man Who Fell To Earth series features episodes directed by Joss Agnew ("The Sarah Jane Adventures", "Young Dracula", "Casualty", "Poldark", "Deep State", "The Split", and "The Irregulars") and Alex Kurtzman (director of the films People Like Us, The Mummy; plus one episode of "Star Trek: Discovery" previously). With episodes written by Alex Kurtzman, Jenny Lumet, and Jane Maggs. Developed by Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet; produced by Adrian Kelly, Stuart Sutherland; with John Lopez and Jane Maggs as supervising producers. Made by CBS Studios, Secret Hideout, and Timberman-Beverly Productions. Showtime will debut their new The Man Who Fell To Earth series streaming spring 2022 - stay tuned for more updates. It doesn't look bad but it's only trailer. And hopefully some good talent is behind this...

I really like the two lead actors, Ejiofor and Ms. Harris, so I've immediate interest in this. I remember watching Nic Roeg's film with Bowie when it came out way back then. I can't say I liked it, but didn't hate it either. It was very strange and very Roeg and not one of his most accessible films, that's for sure. I shall for sure watch this Showtime presentation as I've cable and it'll be right there for me to view on my 65" Samsung HD television. I loved the trailer! My only apprehension are the director's whose work have been questionable for me. Nothing to do but give it and them a chance with an open mind. However...even as I write this my apprehension grows...lol...
