Have you “herd”? Yellowstone is likely to return for Season 5 this fall, according to executive producer David Glasser.
Following the Paramount Network hit’s SAG Awards nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, he told our sister site Variety that he expected the show to resume production in May and premiere its fifth season in autumn. In other words, viewers won’t have to wait too long to find out just how big a mistake Jamie made by choosing Beth’s ominous “option No. 3,” which in the Season 4 finale resulted in him murdering his biological father! (Read the full recap here.)
And though co-creator/showrunner Taylor Sheridan is spread pretty thin these days, what with working on spinoffs 1883 and 6666 as well as Paramount+’s Mayor of Kingstown, fans needn’t worry that we’re closing in on the last roundup. Yellowstone not only continues to deliver kick-ass ratings — its Season 4 finale was up 81 percent over Season 3’s — it’s reached a creative zenith. As Glasser put it, “It’s the prime of the show. [It’s] still maturing, and there’s still a lot of story to tell.
“I know with Taylor, he’s got a lot to say and a lot to write,” he added. “He’s deep into Season 5 of Yellowstone now. He’s got some incredible ideas that he shared that I think audiences are going to be really excited about.”
Hey, some of us are pretty psyched already. What are you hoping for from Season 5? Anyone else think Beth might have shot herself in the foot by forcing Jamie back into the family fold?
Of course there’s still lots to tell because they didn’t tell anything this past season. The writing was absolute garbage. The women are a mess (Monica was left doing nothing actually) and the men were just as confused and unmotivated because they had flashbacks and Jimmy’s spin-off taking over.
Very true. Whole lot about nadda.
Unfortunately, yeah.
Actually, I think the past season was excellent. Great storyline with Jimmy. The introduction of a wonderful new character in Carter. A terrific guest appearance by Piper Perabo.
Can’t wait for season five.
I agree! Can’t wait for S5 either!!
Season 4 was wonderfully written. I’m shocked at how many people did not understand the psychology behind season 4. It was a chess game that Is played in large businesses from history to-date. It was a window into what big corporations are dealing with. Strategically taking over… Placing pawns in the right places. Then the psychology behind Beth and her father. She revealed her weakness. Wonderfully written. Loved season 4!
Well said Alisha! I also appreciated Kayce’s storyline in search for meaning for himself.
Bababing bababoom!
Exactly my thought, very methodical, perfect timing. Reeling in the herd, united they win, separated they lose family power.
Season 5 should be very juicy.
I totally agree, Alisha!! Great season! Well said!!
Take a nap, you need it.
I completely agree it was garbage!! The 1st show of the season was absolutely the only reason why I continued to watch the season because I thought if the 1st show of the season was that awesome then the rest of it would be but I was big time wrong half of the time I fell asleep 5 minutes after the show started!!
I miss it being on in the summer like the first few years but I’ll take it anytime I can get it.
Comments spot on. Waited to binge watch last season an basically nothing much happened compared to previous seasons. the Show is still good just not as pow this season.
They want to build on the ratings success and find a middle ground to get the show out quickly and safely and not sacrifice quality. Everyone knows they have the next TWD, Got etc level hit.
Lol,the delusions are rampant.
I’m happy it’s coming back sooner rather than later. i really want to see what happens next because you know Jamie is bad news any way you look at it. I also enjoy Carter.
It’s going to be interesting to see what happens if Beth finds out Jamie has a child. Remembering what she told him….
Will season 5 continue on Paramount or switch to Paramount +?
Yeah but don’t forget what John told her – we hunt wolves, not sheep.
Beth’s showdown with Jamie was In His Office (!). She knows she ‘ruined her life’ by going after him in this way. But, she tells her dad “now you own him,” as if Jamie acted alone and just incriminated himself. There will be consequences, by the end of the series, TS has assured us. S5 will kick the can. Halt the airport once and for all. Get Duttons out of governor’s race, and into conservation. Continue with good parenting, happy couples, good music and scenery. Life is difficult enough, as Rip said.
I can’t wait for season 5, and I thought this last season was so much better than Season 3. I can’t wait for Jamie to redeem his relationship with Beth. I think they may end up helping each other with they’re shared cause. Which is to save the ranch.
Never happen
I don’t trust Jamie any farther than I could throw him. He is a weasel and only cooperates with people if it benefits him.
I agree I would like to see that as well
May I make a request that season 5 of Yellowstone, clean up the language. I really think the f bomb was over used and I don’t feel like it’s necessary for a good show.
Come on, how do you think cowboys speak. Do you think they say “Gosh Darn” when pissed. If you sensibilities are so delicate, why not just watch Gunsmoke instead. I find it interesting that all the brutality and killings don’t bother you, but harmless curse words do. How very Christian of you.
lol
Stick to Sesame Street.
I think the f-bomb is over used also 👍👍👍👍👍
Agreed. The profanity is excessive. It’s a real turn off for a lot of people.
Beth will reveal to Rip the truth of what happened when they were kids in regard to Jamie. She will discover Jamie has a child. She vowed to kill what he loves in the barn in season 2. Carter being in her life may soften her up and change her vow to Jamie or it may intensify it. John might just be in the governor’s office and Kayce may not be with Monica after season 5. Just some ideas.
I think John will let Jamie run uncontested now that he “owns him”. And if she tells Rip what Jamie did, he’ll end up at the train station with his father.
Maybe Beth will kill the mother of Jamie child and take the child and raise it as her own.
Did you read something I didn’t say? I don’t recall saying anything about being a Christian. I just don’t like the word over and over and as far as the killings go if it’s justifiable then so be it. I don’t agree with all of them though and that’s my prerogative. I didn’t put that in for an argument but I do believe it could be cleaned up a bit and I know a lot of cowboys that don’t use that language all the time. BTW I do try living a Christian life but that wasn’t what this was about. Do you think you would still watch it if they cleaned it up some?
Real world, James. James, meet the real world.
I’m more concerned about using the Lord’s name in vein.
Maybe they should take a longer break.
The writing most definitely needed more time than they gave it last season…
Love this show and 1883!! But thought too much time was spent on Monica’s whining, Jimmy, and the girl that was demonstrating. Fast forwarded thru some of those scenes. Core family has the best scenes. Love Carter!
You wear the brand and dare to fast forwarded through Yellowstone!?
fortunately we will not have to deal with Jimmy anymore on Yellowstone.
Don’t get too happy yet. I read on some board that Jimmie will be around, how, and how much is the question to be answered. He may be on the initial episodes of the spin off, and then head on back home to the Duttons as a lot was said when he was leaving that there would always be a place for him at Yellowstone.
I am very happy there will be a season 5 of Yellowstone! I thought season 4 was the final season and was very disappointed with ending!
Kayce is by far the best. Beth is a down right bitch that I can’t stand. I wish Jamie would grow some balls.
Jamie is physically unable to do that and as for Beth’ she is the one Dutton that does what is necessary
All dynasty families like the Duttons have one family member that does what is needed without question, in this case Beth is best suited for the job.
Love Beth and all of the others except Monica…she is really boring.. The F*** bomb was used entirely too much..hope season 5 is better with that
I like a program that has a interesting story line becoming suspenseful then reveals its secrets while raising unsolved questions that can keep you on your toes and guessing. Yellowstone is great. Manifest being the bomb is my #1 favorite!
Q, what’s TWN, oh and the F word has had us change channels more than once. It’s not appreciated and disrespectful. I’ve asked everyone I know about using the word and they don’t like it either some people including me use closed caption so we don’t have to actually hear it. My mom used to say people that use it must have a limited vocabulary!
I agree with you about Monica whining, Kaycee is damned if he don’t and damned if he does with her.
I’d just like Beth to go a whole season without bruises and cuts on her face.
Have to say that Jamie is my least favorite character. He spends way too much time whining plus he was too easily duped by his biodad into thinking that he actually cared about him.
The best show ever needs seasons 6to15 in the making!
RIGHT ON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This season Sucked! Maybe Taylor could go back to telling the Yellowstone story then setting up spin offs. He Definitely phoned it in this season. Worst season yet!
If I started watching from this season on never would have watched it
No I don’t love sis she makes the show can’t wait best series ever.I come from a big family got to love the family be drama
It came back in autumn last year too so basically a year between seasons.
All previous seasons left me starving for more! Season 4 was like burnt toast. I’ll take it cause it’s all I can get. The writing took a sharp dive. Johns’ relationship with Tate has totally disappeared. Monica whines about everything and Kacey enables it. Beth is beginning to look delusional and she is a very strong character. Almost feel sorry for the crap the Dutton family is raining down on Jamie. Please stop the bleeding of loosing the storyline
Love the story line but the language especially in front of a child is too strong. My husband watches all I can’t take the language we all get the f bomb. But is it really necessary to the great story line?
There should be a lot left to tell because there was almost no Yellowstone in Yellowstone this year. Outside of the first ten minutes of Episode 1 – the whole thing felt like one giant commerical for “other stuff Taylor Sheridan is working on”
And dont get me wrong, those shows are all going to be great and I will watch EVERY ONE. He’s earned all benefit of the doubt – but damn this season was boring compared to the first 3.
