DURHAM, N.C. (CNN Newsource) —
North Carolina state troopers reported responding to more than 440 collisions on Sunday due to snow and ice.

In Durham, a tractor-trailer rig slid off a highway bridge, leaving the trailer vertical, leaning from the bridge to the road.
The driver of the truck was hospitalized but was not seriously injured.
The North Carolina Department of Transportation does not believe the bridge was badly damaged.

But it will have to be cleaned and treated with salt before it can re-open.
