Diana Silvers' star is rising. You might be familiar with her modelling work, where her lithe 5'10 frame and ethereal facial features have seen Silvers walk for some of fashion's biggest designers and appear on the covers of international publications. More recently, Silvers has turned her attention to the pursuit of acting and, at the age of 24 she's landed roles in successful films such as Booksmart and Ma. In her latest endeavour as a new ambassador for Clé de Peau Beauté, alongside fellow Hollywood stars Dakota Fanning and Ella Balinska, Silvers spoke to Bazaar about what beauty means to her and how we can achieve true radiance.

When it comes to my make-up, less is more...

"I'm a minimalist so my make-up bag is so small. I don't really wear too much but, when I do, the Clé de Peau Beauté Radiant Fluid Foundation is literally the greatest thing that has ever been made in make-up, I think. I wear it in shade 20 because I'm fair, but a little bit olive. Then I'm also obsessed with the brand's Cream Blush. It's a multi-use product you can put on your lips, throw on your cheeks and your eyelids, so this is like my three-in-one glory product. It's what I wear pretty much every day. It's so simple but a little bit goes a long way."

The three beauty rules I live by...

"Always take your make-up off before you go to bed, which for a while I feel like I didn't do. There are those nights where it's three in the morning and you had like five parties to go to, or it’s Emmys week and you are so tired, but you know if you go to bed in that make-up you're going to feel really bad the next morning. Also, I stand by the first and last thing you should drink in a day is water, it's like the ultimate beauty hack. And SPF. That's three important things everyone should carry on doing."

My favourite make-up product is...

"A lipstick. I love a nude but I actually just love all lip colours, I think they’re so much fun and can really change the way you feel about yourself in a day, and can really tie an outfit together. Right now I'm actually wearing this one called Peach Stone, which mixes really well with my natural colour. I definitely go for colours that are more berry and brown, but it also depends on the time of the year – like the season, or how pale or tanned I am. That's what's so fun about lipstick: you can always explore different colours and have fun."

I believe that radiance is...

"People's laughs, generosity and kindness are all radiant qualities. People being generous with their time, generous with their empathy and, of course, there is being generous in the sense of philanthropy and giving back. All my friends, my family, and the people I love, it's how they make me feel too – when the people around you empower one another and we all lift each other up."

Giving back is important to me because...

"I'm going to quote Tobey Maguire's Spider Man right now, when they say, 'With great power comes great responsibility'. I feel like when we're given this wonderful platform, we have to use it for good. I think about programmes that I did growing up, like after-school programmes, or summer camps, and all the opportunities that I was privileged enough to have to explore different things. It only makes sense to give back so that other people can also have those opportunities. I think it's really important to give back to the community because it starts with us – it starts with the individual. It's all part of lifting each other up and empowering each other to be able to help someone else, lend a hand or donate money or volunteer. It's how you spread opportunity and how we make a better world for the next generation."

I get into character through my...

"Hair, make-up and costume. This is very base level but my roommate and I, for example, have very different approaches to the way we dress and do our make-up and hair because we're different people. Everyone has a different method and skincare routine and way that they get ready in the morning, from the perfume they wear to the make-up they use. My favourite part of getting into character is meeting with the hair and make-up department and figuring out how this character sees herself. How do they get dressed? How do they put their make-up on in the morning? All of that is very meticulous and thought about because very rarely are they going to be just like me, and I don't want to be just me on camera."

When my skin is unhappy I...

"Drink lots of water. It's really important, and what you eat always shows up on your skin. If I’m on my period and I’m craving a lot of sugar or salt – and then it shows up in my skin – I'm like, 'OK, reset your body, drink a bunch of water, eat a vegetable.' I also love a good mask, Clé De Peau Beauté has amazing eye masks that cover the top half of my face and I feel like all of my stress shows up there because I emote a lot in my face."

My favourite way to unwind...

"I love baths. I love an Epsom salt bubble bath where I do a face mask and have a candle going, and I'm watching Parks and Recreation or I'm listening to music. That to me is the ultimate self-care. And then getting a good night's sleep. Sleep is really important."

I find beauty in...

"Kindness, honestly. I think the most beautiful thing a person can be is kind. My mum is the most beautiful person in the world to me because she's so kind and she always leaves you feeling good. To leave an interaction feeling good about yourself because of how the other person talks to you, that's the most beautiful thing in the whole world."
