Burst water pipe displaces some in retirement community

STROUDSBURG, MONROE CO. (WOLF) —
The Stroudsburg Fire Department responded to an elderly highrise retirement community Sunday morning for a burst water pipe.

Fire crews responded to an automatic fire alarm at the Meadows, an active lifestyle and retirement condos for 55 and over in LaBar Village in Stroudsburg.
Upon arrival, firefighters encountered water flowing inside the building.
Though the damage is moderate, the building currently is not inhabitable.
The Salvation Army and American Red Cross are assisting the displaced.

There is no word on when residents can return. All residents were apprised of the situation and most are staying with family according to officials.
