The Golden State Warriors are definitely glad that Klay Thompson has finally returned after over 900 days of absence from NBA action, though, they are still waiting for the former Washington State Cougars to shoot like his old self. According to ESPN Stats & Info, Thompson has yet to shoot better than 40 percent from the field in any of his first games since making his way back to active duty.

It has been a struggle for Klay Thompson and the Warriors. Thompson has been held to under 40% FG in each of his 1st 4 games since returning from injury. The Warriors, who have been without Stephen Curry & Draymond Green, have lost 5 of 7, including at the Timberwolves Sunday.

It's perfectly understandable for Thompson to struggle with his shooting after such a long layoff. He's clearly still finding his rhythm, which ‘ rivals hope won't return anytime soon. Since entering the league in 2011, Thompson has never shot worse than 42.2 percent in a season. Moreover, his field goal percentage in a season has not dipped below 47.0 since the 2014-15 campaign with the Warriors.

While Thompson's shooting woes could be partly responsible for the recent malaise by the Warriors, it's hardly the only reason. For one, Stephen Curry and Draymond Green have missed games.

Nevertheless, it's just a matter of time before Thompson gets it together again. Take that as a warning for the rest of the league.
