Chester County student arrested after threatening to slash tire

PENN TOWNSHIP — A student at Technical College High School, Pennock’s Bridge campus, who threatened to slash another student’s tires was arrested on drug charges after police were called and discovered she had a knife and drugs.

The female juvenile was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana, paraphernalia, and a knife while on the campus of Technical College High School, Pennock’s Bridge in Penn Township. The items were discovered in the student’s vehicle after school officials investigated a report of her threatening to slash another student’s tires. She was arrested.

Theft of credit cards

The West Whiteland Township Police Department is investigating a theft of credit cards which occurred at the Panera Bread in Exton. The stolen cards were then used at Target. Surveillance images of the suspect were obtained.

Shoplifting

On Dec. 26, 2021, the West Chester Police Department was dispatched to a business in the 700 block of West Strasburg Road for a report of a retail theft discovered. Through an investigation, James Rothenberger, a 40-year-old white male of Reading, was identified as a suspect. A warrant was issued for Rothenberger’s arrest, and on Monday Jan. 10, 2022, Rothenberger turned himself in to the West Chester Police Department. Rothenberger is charged with Retail Theft, Theft by Unlawful Taking, Receiving Stolen Property, and Conspiracy. Rothenberger was processed and arraigned.

Kennett Square

Trespass

Jamie Weaver, 49, of Avondale, was arrested and charged with Criminal Trespass in reference to an incident in which he entered a business through a window and took equipment without the other co-owner’s knowledge. This incident occurred on July 19, 2021 at approximately 1:23 p.m. in the 200 Block of South Mill Road, Kennett Square Borough. Charges of criminal trespass were filed with District Court. Weaver was arraigned and processed on Jan. 11, 2022.

Drug possession

On Jan. 13, two students at Avon Grove High School were found to be in possession of a vape pen containing THC. They were processed and released.

Theft from Walmart

On Dec. 21, two people switched the price tags on multiple items for sale at the Walmart in East Fallowfield, paying just $10 for $696.29 worth of items. They used the self-checkout register, and police have surveillance footage of the suspects. Some of the merchandise stolen include an amplifier, a socket set, Reece’s Minis, and men’s slippers.
