Good news, Married At First Sight Australia fans. A ninth season of the show is officially happening, and we'll get to watch strangers meeting each other for the first time at the altar all over again.

For the uninitiated, MAFSA is a social experiment which follows a number of different couples, who have been matched by a team of relationship experts based on their likes, dislikes and backgrounds. Each couple will meet for the first time on their 'wedding day', and make a commitment to each other to try and make the relationship work.

There have been some success stories (there are even Married At First Sight babies!) while other relationships have crumbled before our eyes. Here's everything we know so far about season nine.

When will Married At First Sight Australia season 9 air?

The new season premiered in Australia on Monday 31 January 2022, on Channel 9.

E4 have also confirmed the latest series of Married at First Sight Australia will land on the channel this February, though an official air date is yet to be announced. YES.

Speaking of the news, Karl Warner, Head of Youth and Digital said: "We’ve now caught up with the Australian broadcast schedule so we can be as close to the action as possible. Married At First Sight Australia is the show everyone was talking about in 2021 and I’ve not doubt it’ll be just as addictive in 2022."

This is so exciting.
