Cyberpunk 2077's Steam build has been updated for the first time since October which could mean that the next-gen patch release is coming very soon.

Cyberpunk 2077 next-gen patch was originally planned for a release in 2021 but since the game launched in a broken state, CD Projekt Red have tried their best to damp down the fire and deliver as many bug fixes and improvements as possible, which ultimately pushed the next-gen patch into 2022.

CD Projekt Red revealed that Cyberpunk 2077's next-gen patch would be released sometime in Q1 2022 but a specific release date is yet to be revealed by the developer. However, it seems that the studio are testing the next big patch at the moment, which suggests that the release could be coming soon.

Eagled-eye players have spotted that Cyberpunk 2077 build on Steam has been updated with a new patch a couple of days ago with a "testing branch" description.

Sadly, the patch does not include any other details. We also don't know the file size which would give us a hint at how big this patch is going to be. But given that CD Projekt Red confirmed the next-gen patch for Q1 2022, it would not be surprising if this is indeed the big patch everyone is waiting for.

Players on Xbox Series X|S and PS5 can currently play Cyberpunk 2077 but via backwards compatibility and with some small improvements over the last-gen version. The true native PS5 and Xbox Series X|S version should introduce a wide variety of improvements like better visuals, consistent frame-rate and more.

CD Projekt Red are yet to reveal the full slate of improvements that will be in the next-gen patch.
