Thief claims to have gun, steals jewelry from employee at Brooklyn TJ Maxx

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD is searching for a man who is sought in connection with a robbery that occurred at a TJ Maxx in Brooklyn last month, authorities said.

At 5:25 p.m. on Thursday, December 16, 2021, the suspect entered a TJ Maxx located at 1630 East 15th Street in Midwood, approached the jewelry counter, and asked to see a necklace, officials said.

A 44-year old female store employee allowed the individual to hold the jewelry.

When the employee asked for the jewelry back, the suspect said he had a gun and fled the store on foot in an unknown direction.

No gun was ever displayed.

The necklace had an estimated value of approximately $800.00, authorities said.

No injuries were reported.
