Hidden Assets is about family, power and the corrosive effects of boundless greed - a story set in Co Clare, small town Ireland and the world's diamond capital, Antwerp (IMDb).
The first two episodes went out last night, with the remaining four episodes already available on the iPlayer. Irish and Belgian police collaborate to track down mister big in the seedy world of diamond smuggling and terrorism. Thoroughly enjoyed last night's openers and plan to binge the rest tonight and tomorrow!

Thanks for the recommendation.
She certainly was, as Imelda Quirke - see IMDb. Thirty years ago already, where has the time gone?!
Enjoying this so far.
Ah of course! Thanks for that.

Why do people say that if it's on BBC4, it's "hidden away"? The Saturday night foreign drama double-bill slot on BBC4 is well established.
Plus it's fairly high on the EPG at 9/109. It's very unlikely Hidden Assets would have ever gone to BBC One in the first place given it's an Irish/Belgian drama.
Its strange how sometimes even if they enjoy the show, some people feel they have to include a negative to counter the positive statement.they have made.
Shame, as there's a lot of really good stuff on there. Its listings appear on the same double page spread as BBC1, BBC2, ITV and CH4 in the Radio Times, so no excuse to miss anything!
I believe that BBC1 is hugely restricted in tee amount of foreign sourced primetime TV they can show, I assumed that this is what the comment was referring to.
After watching the newly found Hidden Assets had thought to catch up on Acceptable Risk sadly not available on iplayer. ☹️
I do agree but in all fairness I had posted that I was finding Saturday night tv poor and missing a drama.
Helpful replies mentioned BBC4 and Hidden Assets.
Looking it up, it aired in the UK in 2018 on Universal TV (never heard of it till now) which has since closed down.
Seems the character was Emer Byrne in AR, not sure if an explanation was ever given in show for the name change.
That's where I heard about it. Have watched the first part and really enjoying it so far (despite the language but I know it is totally in context). I usually find a lot of those BBC4 European dramas quite dull and serious for my taste, but the Irish aspect, the diamond storyline and the interesting main character make it very watchable so far IMO. I agree with the poster above about BBC1 being restricted in showing something that is sourced outside the UK, and it is a shame for the good ones. Vienna Blood is the same.
They could've promoted it a bit , but I suppose that would mean taking a spot from the endless David Attenborough trailers.
Yes, but very little is subtitled so it doesn't really fit into the foreign drama scenario. The appalling, imo, Around the whole in 80 days had far more subtitles in the first episode ( I didn't watch any more) than this did and it got prime time on the main channel. Hidden away was probably the wrong phrase, but on BBC4 it may get a million viewers but could have got 5 million if aired on the main channel
Around the World in 80 Days has A. David Tennant as the lead and B. based on a novel, an Irish/Belgian drama is never going to get 5m on BBC One, that's just silly.
Well to be fair, both Ireland and Belgium are foreign countries, so theoretically it's a foreign drama
It is not silly, if it was marketed correctly it could.
I'm not sure about numbers, but I think there have been plenty of Irish based dramas that have done well enough in the last few years. I have to disagree on 80 days though - a very different thing to this, but I'm enjoying both so far.
