In reality, no one should have been surprised to see Jeff Goldblum walk the runway in Milan last night. The 69-year-old Jurassic Park actor has grown quite attached to Prada over the past few years, packing his wardrobe out with the brand’s boxy printed shirts and posting countless selfies on Instagram to show them off. Yet, it still came as a surprise when he emerged from the darkness to close the Milan Fashion Week show in his Final Boss finery, alongside Twin Peaks actor Kyle MacLachlan, Sex Education's Asa Butterfield and Black Mirror's Damson Idris. Not just because he’d ditched the colourful shirts for a pitch-black overcoat, but also because Goldblum’s perma-grin had collapsed into a determined fashion frown. He looks like a bouncer for a nightclub that you are not, under any circumstances, getting into.

Social media, it goes without saying, was excited about the cameo. Here are the best (and most excited) reactions to Goldblum's surprise appearance.
