The Toronto Raptors are in a great spot as a franchise. They’re competitive in a tough Eastern Conference and they have a ton of amazing assets.

Scottie Barnes looks like a draft-day steal, OG Anunoby has shown some amazing potential, and Fred VanVleet is playing like an All-Star this season.

And on top of all of that, they still have a 27-year-old Pascal Siakam who is playing well, too. But why not capitalize on Siakam’s trade value?

NBA Trades: 2 Pascal Siakam trades the Raptors should consider

Raptors Rapture outlined all the reasons why the Raptors could look to move Siakam before the deadline, and it’s enough to get people thinking.

The three benefits to trading Siakam given by Raptors Rapture were as followed: his market value is at an all-time high, Toronto could fill holes in the roster, and it would allow Barnes room to grow.

Since the article was written, though, the Raptors have gone 7-3 and now sit in a prime position to compete for a top-six seed in the Eastern Conference.

That being said, trading Siakam could still be something the Raptors should consider. While it’s great that they’re playing so well, this is not a championship-level team.

Therefore, trading Siakam in order to better prepare for the future could be the way to go. Why not exchange him for a younger asset that could be a part of a more successful future?

What NBA trades would be out there for Toronto to consider ahead of the deadline this season? Here are three NBA trades that would ship Siakam elsewhere.
