The final game on Saturday of the Spectrum Orthopaedics Classic at Hoover High School featured Norwayne against Malvern, two teams with a combined record of 19-3.

It would be the Bobcats who would come away with the win, improving to 10-2 with a 77-65 decision.

The high-scoring affair saw Norwayne lead 20-17 at the end of the first quarter, 41-37 at halftime, and 56-54 entering the fourth quarter, where the winners posted a 21-11 stanza.

Michael Minor led the Hornets with 22 points and seven rebounds. Noah Ball had 11 points, Dylan Phillips had nine points, Mitchell Minor had eight points, and Connor Lefevre had six points.

“This was a tough loss,” stated Head Coach Dennis Tucci. “Norwayne is a very good team. We had some moments of greatness, but to be honest, we had some times when we were downright pathetic. We need to be better at the little things. We really struggled with some basic fundamentals.

“Michael had an outstanding night, and I was happy with our effort and attitudes.”
