Lanett (Ala.) four-star defensive lineman Caden Story has reopened his recruitment.

Story, who had been committed to Auburn since August, announced his de-commitment Sunday on Twitter.

“From the moment I received my offer from Auburn University, they’ve shown nothing but love and support,” Story’s tweet read. “Due to recent changes and careful consideration, I’ve decided to de-commit from Auburn University.”

Coaching change a factor, writes Story

Story’s de-commitment comes a week after defensive line coach Nick Eason left Auburn for Clemson.

Story wrote in his tweet that Auburn will continue to be an option.

“Auburn is still one of my top schools, but I have to make sure I’m making the best decision for me and my family,” Story wrote.

Story is the No. 216 overall recruit in the 2022 class, the No. 24 defensive tackle and No. 10 overall in Alabama, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
