San Francisco Performances is set to present a unique recital experience starring bass-baritone Dashon Burton on Feb. 5, 2022 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.

Accompanied by pianist Robert Mollicone, Burton will take on music by John Jacob Niles, Kurt Weill, Paul Bowles, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, Magaret Bonds, William Grant Still, Marques L.A. Garrett, and Moses Hogan.

“Initially conceived of and created as a free online series during the COVID-19 shelter-in-place, SFP’s Sanctuary Series continues to center on music as refuge and solace, and what better place to perform music of this nature than amid the stunning Romanesque and Gothic elements of the historic St. Mark’s Lutheran Church? We welcome Dashon back with a new and very personal program, created as his reflection on the American experience,” said San Francisco Performances President Melanie Smith in an official press statement.

Burton has performed with such organizations as the Salzburg Festival, the Händel & Haydn Society of Boston, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Pittsburgh Symphony, and the Seattle Symphony, among others.
