Familiar collaborators Concepts and Nike are linking up once again, this time rolling out a wild new execution of the Air Max 1.
The upcoming release features an array of colors, patterns, and materials. Bandana and Mexican blanket prints share real estate on a mostly denim-constructed upper, which works alongside cow-spotted dyed bovine fur. Concepts branding adorns the tongues, insoles, and hang tags to officially mark the collab. Neutral tones share the midsole and outsole to balance out the look.
Concepts, which returns with its first Nike project since the “Horus” Kyrie 7 last May, has not officially announced a release date for its Air Max 1. We’ll follow up with more details once they’re confirmed.
UPDATE (03/01): After several leaks and teasers, Concepts has officially unveiled the first colorway to release in its Air Max 1 collection. The “Mellow” colorway features washed denim and a green mudguard among a slew of other details. According to Concepts, the collab is inspired by late 1960s and early ‘70s youth culture.
An in-store raffle will be announced soon, and the Concepts x Nike Air Max 1 “Mellow” will drop online this Saturday, March 5 from cncpts.com.
UPDATE (03/07): After last week’s launch of the Concepts x Nike Air Max 1 “Mellow,” official images have surfaced of the next colorway from the pack. This tiger camo-draped pair is expected to release very soon for a retail price of $170.
UPDATE (03/08): Concepts confirms that the second release from this collection, the Nike Air Max 1 “Heavy” in tiger camo and multicolor, will release this Saturday, March 12 for $170 from cncpts.com and Concepts stores.
UPDATE (03/16): Hot on the heels of the “Mellow” and “Heavy” releases, official product images of a third Concepts x Nike Air Max 1 collab have emerged, but release info of the shoe has not yet been announced by the collaborators. Check back soon to Sole Collector for updates.
