John Carpenter Praises Halo Infinite

Marvel's Wolverine has gained a new narrative director in the form of Walt Williams. Insomniac Games has quickly built up a reputation for its as some of the best storytellers in gaming. The team really showed its potential with games like Resistance, but found major critical and commercial acclaim with its Spider-Man games. Although Insomniac is deep into development on Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Insomniac also confirmed that it is working on Marvel's Wolverine. This will be the first AAA Wolverine game since Activision's beloved X-Men Origins: Wolverine, so the bar has been set for the character.

A new leak from PlayStation has seemingly revealed that a PlayStation 5 exclusive fantasy game is now in the works. For the most part, Sony has been pretty quiet about many of the PS5 titles that it has in development. Outside of God of War Ragnarok, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, and a handful of other titles, we don't know what many of Sony's first-party studios are working on at the moment. Luckily, thanks to this new leak, we now have a better idea of what one of Sony's lesser-known divisions is creating.

When Pokemon Red and Blue first released, the game was accompanied by a lot of excellent art from Ken Sugimori. Sugimori's stunning watercolor art could be found throughout the instruction manual, player's guide, promotional material, and more. Over the years, Sugimori's style has greatly evolved, but a lot of old-school fans still love the original Pokemon art and designs. Fan artist @Pokeyugami on Twitter decided to take Sugimori's style and imagine how it might look applied to a modern day Pokemon game. The result is nothing short of breathtaking, and a must-see for long-time fans!

Following the theatrical success of Sonic the Hedgehog 2, fans of Sega's blue blur are curious to see if his next big video game will be equally successful. Sonic Frontiers is slated to release later this year, and Sega seems well aware of the anticipation. During a Q&A session following Sega Sammy's fiscal year results, the company was asked about Sonic Frontiers, and whether the game's scores on Metacritic are a concern. Sega revealed that it does have "internal targets" in terms of review scores, and that the company is working hard on the game's quality.

Ubisoft's popular multiplayer shooter Rainbow Six Siege is gearing up to crossover with Sega's popular action RPG series Yakuza. In the past, Siege has collaborated with a number of different properties including Rick and Morty, Splinter Cell, and a handful of others. Now, Sega and Ubisoft are teaming up to bring a couple of iconic Yakuza characters into Siege for the first time ever.

Norman Reedus is a man on a mission. Riding solo after longtime co-star Melissa McBride dropped out of The Walking Dead's Daryl-Carol spinoff, Reedus returns as Daryl Dixon in the sequel series taking the lone zombie apocalypse survivor in a new direction: Europe. The untitled spinoff, which will take place and film overseas this summer with ER alum and showrunner David Zabel, could reunite Reedus with "lost" characters who went missing from the Walking Dead Universe. Speaking to Iron & Air for his debut novel, The Ravaged, Reedus teased why Daryl travels to Europe after The Walking Dead ends this fall on AMC:

The Power Rangers comics universe has grown in all sorts of ways over the past few years, and today it expands yet again with a brand new Ranger unlike any other. We've got your exclusive first look at Power Rangers Unlimited: The Death Ranger #1, a new one-shot issue by writer Paul Allor (Power Rangers: The Psycho Path) and artist Katherine Lobo, and the special issue will introduce the world to a mysterious and deadly Ranger whose unearthly secret might spell doom for everyone in the Morphin Grid. The Walt Disney Company's acquisition of 20th Century Fox meant bringing a lot of iconic franchises into the realm of Disney, which also means that Marvel Comics is able to dive deep into all corners of a variety of franchises, including the iconic Alien series. Coming this summer is an all-new Alien comic series from writer Phillip Kennedy Johnson and artist Julius Ohta, which will depict the deadly xenomorph serving as a treacherous threat, but also as potentially being the key to humanity's salvation. Spirit Halloween has been a defining brand of the spooky season in recent years, with its notoriety set to grow even further with the upcoming movie Spirit Halloween, a family-friendly adventure that ties directly into the stores. The announcement also came with the first official photo and the reveal that Christopher Lloyd and Rachael Leigh Cook would be starring in the movie, with Variety revealing two new looks at the film featuring the stars. While the film doesn't yet have a release date, we can only imagine audiences can expect to see it just in time for the stores to start popping up around the country.

Superman's boyfriend will be getting his own super suit. In the upcoming Superman: Son of Kal-El #14, Jon Kent's boyfriend Jay Nakamura will step up as a hero in his own right — superhero costume and all. According to the solicitation for the issue, "Jay Nakamura must embrace his powers and become the hero Jon knows he can be." One Piece: Red is set to hit theaters in Japan on August 6th, though the fifteenth film of the Shonen franchise has yet to reveal when it will be hitting North America, but that isn't stopping fans from the West in sharing their thoughts on the upcoming movie. While the movie is introducing the daughter of Shanks in Uta, the "ultimate diva" is far from the strangest character that is set to debut as it would appear that Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates' ship, the Thousand Sunny, is being brought to life.

Colin Cantwell, the designer of such iconic Star Wars ships as the X-Wing and the TIE Fighter, and the original Death Stars base, has died. His partner, Sierra Dall, confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that the 90-year-old artist died on Saturday at his home in Colorado. In addition to his work on Star Wars, Cantwell's film work includes special effects in 2001: A Space Odyssey, dialogue in Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and consulting on the computer graphics effects in WarGames. Cantwell was a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles, with a degree in animation. He then received a personal invitation to attend Frank Lloyd Wright's School of Architecture from its namesake.

Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen have been the stars of some of the most epic lightsaber action in all of Star Wars. Now, the actors are back as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader for the Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney+. Naturally, it begs the question of what kind of lightsaber duels we can expect as the first live-action Star Wars shows, The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, have put blasters and other weapons at the front of action sequences. Obi-Wan director Deborah Chow sounds excited about some of the action she got to bring to the series, including sequences with the iconic Star Wars weapon.

Karl Urban is the latest Star Trek 4 star to offer an update on when the project might begin filming. Like most of his co-stars, Urban isn't sure of the details. He tells Radio X that he knows Paramount is working on the project, but the practical details of when it may start filming are still not set. "I have heard that it is happening, but I've been hearing that for the last three years," Urban says (via Trek Movie). "All I know is they are developing it, they're writing a script, and I know one hundred percent that we all want to come back and do it. So I think it's all just a matter of logistics and timing at this point."

There's no shortage of vampire content out there, and fans of the blood-sucking creatures are in for a lot of upcoming content. There are multiple Dracula projects in the work, including The Last Voyage Of The Demeter, which is based on "The Captain's Log," a chapter from Bram Stoker's classic novel Dracula. According to Deadline, the upcoming film has been pushed to next summer.

In the Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi, the Jedi-turned-Sith Lord isn't hunting Jedi alone. A decade after Emperor Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid) ushered in the Great Jedi Purge with Order 66 in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, Darth Vader (Hayden Christensen) orders the Grand Inquisitor (Rupert Friend) — along with Reva Sevander, a.k.a. the Third Sister (Moses Ingram), and the Fifth Brother (Sung Kang) — to hunt down what's left of the near-extinct Jedi.

Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers hit Disney+ this weekend and folks seem to be loving it. The new movie combines live-action with animation in the vein of Who Framed Roger Rabbit and follows Disney's most beloved chipmunks more than 30 years after the cancellation of their animated series. The movie is currently "Certified Fresh" on Rotten Tomatoes with a 79% critics score after 92 reviews and an 83% audience score after 250+ reviews. Rescue Rangers combines live-action and animation and follows Disney's most beloved chipmunks, who are voiced by John Mulaney and Andy Samberg. The new film is riddled with references and cameos, and there are plenty of easter eggs you probably missed on the first watch. One eagle-eyed fan noticed a subtle nod to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which led to a response from producer Phil Lord.

Yor Forger has definitely become one of the anime characters to watch this spring season, with Spy x Family from Wit Studio and CloverWorks sure to be one of the biggest new anime series of 2022. With Yor taking on the role of the Thorn Princess whenever she dives into her profession as a world-class assassin, one cosplayer has brought the contract killer to life as Spy x Family continues to release new episodes on a weekly basis that push forward the mission of Twilight.
