Tornado causes damage in Southwest Florida

The cleanup continues in Southwest Florida after an EF-2 tornado touched down on Sunday.

The twister left thousands without power and more than 100 homes damaged.

One video shows a tornado that was spotted off the coast in Marco Island.

Another video shows the Marco Island tornado just outside one Florida resident's home.

Photos from the Hernando County Sheriff's Office showed damage at a 7 Eleven in Spring Hill.

Over in Lee County, Sheriff Carmine Marceno spoke about the importance of staying off the streets while cleanup efforts are underway.

According to WINK News, Officials in Lee County say about 7,000 homes were without power. 62 homes are not livable, with 28 homes destroyed.

In Clearwater, the storms caused portions of stucco to fall off the Bank of America building and into the streets below according to Clearwater Police.

Collier County saw at least one tornado, according to The National Weather Service.
