Ailyn Pérez, Roberto Alagna, Benjamin Bernheim to Headline Opéra National de Paris’ ‘Manon’

The Opéra National de Paris is set to present a new production of Massenet’s “Manon” this February.

The production will be directed by Vincent Huguet with musical direction by James Gaffigan.

Headlining the cast in the title role will be Ailyn Pérez, who will be joined by Roberto Alagna, Atalla Ayan, and Benjamin Bernheim; Alagna and Ayan will each sing three performances as Des Grieux while Bernheim will close out the run with the final two shows.

As Lescaut, audiences will hear Andrzej Filonczyk. Other cast members include Rolodphe Briand as Guillot de Morfontaine, Jean Teltgen as Comte des Grieux, Marc Labonnette as De Brétigny, Andrea Cueva Molnar as Poussette, Ilanah Lobel-Torres as Javotte, Jeanne Ireland as Rosette, Philippe Rouillon as L’Hôtelier, Laurent Laberdesque and Julien Joguet as two guards, and Danielle Gabou as Joséphine.

The opera opens on Feb. 5 and runs through the 26th at the Opéra Bastille for a total of eight performances.
