League of Legends - A perfect example of a balanced and a broken addition to the game

The main issue the League of Legends player base has with the season12, as well as its preseason is the Chemtech drake. Riot are nerfing it in patch 12.2., and if that doesn't work, they say a rework will likely be in order.

Players have aired their grievances regarding both the Chemtech soul and the map it creates on the Rift, very publicly. On that more, Riot have made some changes to how certain champions' abilities interact with the fog, such as Rengar's ultimate, and added some additional scryer blooms to boost visibility.

However, they've also observed high levels of frustration around the Chemtech Soul, which may also contribute to negative sentiment towards the terrain. They, apparently, agree that trying to face check a team that has Chemtech Soul in the Chemtech Fog is difficult as you’re usually at both a combat strength & vision deficit, and also agree that the Chemtech Soul itself, regardless of the mechanics, is overpowered right now.

So they are tapping down on its numbers in 12.2. If it's found that the high moments still don't manifest after both of these changes, yet they continue to frustrate players, Riot state that they are very open to higher scope changes, including reworks, though not being limited to them, as a rumor of complete removal has also been circulating.

Riot Games League of Legends - Chemtech Drake's lifespan may be record-breakingly short

Though Riot's Arcane series was a monumental success, with the preseason lasting for so long, the changes being so few, and the bugs and balance issues being so high, comparatively, the fact that Riot may have to resort to a rework, or even removal, of their new mechanic just as the season started does not bode well. It begs the question, do RIot have their priorities straight or have they invested far too much effort into things like Arcane, to actually make League of Legends a better game.
