Watch: MAMAMOO's Solar Makes A Surprise Royal Appearance On "2 Days & 1 Night Season 4"

A surprise guest appeared on the January 16 episode of KBS’s “2 Days & 1 Night Season 4”!

After wrapping up their previous trip and Moon Se Yoon fulfilling his promise of getting his hair cut like Kang Ho Dong, the cast started a new adventure on a frozen ice rink in Gangwon Province.

The members were surprised to find themselves in a strange location from the opening, where the production staff announced they were planning to hold the first Winter Play-lympics, a pun on the Winter Olympics, which are scheduled to happen soon in February 2022 in Beijing. The PD then shared that the opening ceremonies for the Play-lympics had invited a singer to give a congratulatory performance.

The cast came up with ideas like Kim Yeon Ja, who had previously appeared on the show to sing “Amor Fati” and “Bling Bling,” and Sohyang potentially singing the national anthem. Instead, MAMAMOO’s Solar appeared dressed in a crown and white dress singing “Let It Go,” the iconic song from Disney’s “Frozen.”

Kim Jong Min said, “It’s Solar!” Ravi repeated in shock, “Solar noona is here?” Moon Se Yoon and the others chimed in, “What is Solar doing here?” Kim Jong Min said, “Why is she dressed like that?” Solar, not listening to anyone’s comments, began to focus on the music, and DinDin said, “Why does she look so serious?” Ravi, who is often known for being random on the show, said, “Even I don’t know how to react.”

However, Solar’s high-quality live vocals silence the questioning crowd. As soon as she began singing, Ravi said, “I feel apologetic [for making her perform here].” DinDin did joke, “I think the agency didn’t tell her what she was actually going to do here.” The cast threw themselves into the performance, singing along to the only lyrics they recognized: “Let it go.” Even the cameraman fell under Solar’s spell, running around her to film her in “Music Bank” style.
